MALAGA AIRPORT CAR PARKING
In July 2007 saw the opening of the new car park building which now provides 2,500 new indoor car parking spaces.

MALAGA AIRPORT EXTENSION
Work is nearing completion of the airports new 3rd terminal (Terminal 3), so keeping everything under one roof. The main advantage of this is that passengers who arrive by coach, taxi or private car will not have to go outside at all.
The capacity of the passenger terminal will be doubled, with a huge coach station in a transport exchange centre, which will include the railway.
Work on Terminal 3 started in 2004 and is due to complete this year 2008. The 2nd runway is due for completion in 2010.
Malaga Airport extension will have a total 2,500 new parking spaces with additional underground parking for 66 coaches. See video below.
The intended 224,000 square metres of the terminal building will allow 9,000 passengers to pass through at peak times, instead of the present 6,555.
The car park will have doubled its capacity and there will be 84 new check-in points and ten new fingers for embarking.
Getting from one point to another should neither take too long nor be too complicated.

CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS FACILITIES
There is no business centre at the airport, although there are international telephone facilities and two VIP lounges with telephone and fax facilities.
Rooms at the airport can be rented as meeting rooms.
DISABLED FACILITIES
Airlines provide assistance to disabled passengers at the airport. There are parking spaces for disabled badge holders in the airport car parks.
INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS
Airport information desks (Tel: +34 95 204 8804) can be found in Arrivals at both terminals and in Departures in Terminal 2.
The multilingual staff wear mint green jackets for easy identification. Airlines also have information desks in both Arrivals and Departures.
SHOPPING
A variety of shops including a pharmacy can be found in the Central Plaza in Terminal 1.
Many more shops including duty-free are available in the Centro Commercial in Departures on the second floor of Terminal 2.

TRANSPORT GUIDE
By train:
Regular local trains from Malaga centre to Fuengirola centre including Malaga Airport and Torreblanca.
Renfe zone map
Local trains to Malaga centre leave every 30 minutes 0703-2345 also to Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Torreblanca, Fuengirola amongst others in-between.
Please note, the last stop is Fuengirola. If your destination is beyond
Fuengirola, for example, Mijas costa, Calahonda, Marbella, Estepona or Sotogrande then
the only alternative is to drive or by bus.
The trains are excellent, reliable and one of the cheapest in Europe. Look out for this sign.

By road
Spanish Taxis are always available outside the terminals(journey time to Fuengirola: 15 minutes; journey time to Torremolinos: 10 minutes); a small airport charge is added to the fare.
Always ask the price to Torreblanca and show them the map which is emailed to you with your booking confirmation.
Driving
On exiting the airport, the road splits into two. Stay on the left hand lane if you are heading towards Malaga city.
Stay on the right hand lane If you are heading towards Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona, Sotogrande, Gibraltar, Cadiz, and all other points on the western Costa del Sol.
The A7 (formally the N-340) leads to Fuengirola (southwest of the airport. 15 Minutes) and Malaga centre (northeast of the airport. 5 Minutes).
By
bus: Tourist shuttle buses and bus no. 19 run to Malaga (leaving every 30 minutes 0630-2330) and can be caught outside International Arrivals. There is also a bus service to Marbella that operates daily, every 45 minutes, 0530-2345.

Money and communications
There is a bank open 0900-1930 in Arrivals in Terminal 2, as well as several ATMs and post boxes.
Eating and drinking
There are bars, restaurants and fast food outlets which can be found in the Centro Plaza in Terminal 1.
Bars and cafés are also available in the Centro Commercial in Departures on the second floor of Terminal 2.
LUGGAGE
There is no left-luggage facility at the airport. There is a lost property office in Terminal 1.
Other facilities: There is a medical service, pharmacy, oratory, and exhibition area, as well as travel agencies.
