Which is the nearest airport?
The nearest airport is Malaga which is a 20 minutes drive to/from the villa.
Where is the villa situated?
The villa is situated on a hill in a quiet residential area of Torreblanca which is an urbanisation of Fuengirola. For security reasons the full address cannot be given until a booking has been made.
What are your Check-in / Check-out times?
Your accommodation is available after 4pm on day of arrival and must be vacated by 11am on day of departure. As the villa is quite large the cleaners, gardener & pool man need this time to clean and prepare the villa for new guests.
Guests arriving on early flights may drop their luggage off at the villa AFTER 12.00pm and return to the villa at 4pm. Please note during a luggage drop-off you will not be allowed to ‘look around’ or use the villa for any convenience as this will disrupt the cleaners and the maintenance men.
Is the price quoted for the whole property or per person?
The prices quoted are for the rental of the property per week and NOT per person. The price includes linen, beach towels, hand towels, tea towels, water, weekly linen change (July & August only), garden and pool maintenance. The rental price does not include flights!
Can you walk to the beach/bars/restaurants?
You can walk from the villa down to the beach and restaurants which takes 15 minutes. Please note that the walk uphill will be a struggle for small children or people with walking difficulties. In this case we would recommend taking taxis back to the villa. There are many bars and restaurants along Torreblanca promenade (this promenade continues into Fuengirola with many more bars/restaurants lining the route).
Where is the nearest shop/supermarket?
There is a convenience store on Torreblanca beach front where you can buy essential groceries and fresh bread. The nearest Spanish supermarket is Mercadona which is a 3-4 minute drive from the villa.
Do I need to hire a car?
If you intend not to venture further from the Torreblanca/Fuengirola/Mijas area, then we recommend using the local train/bus/taxi service. However, if you wish to explore the other resort towns and tourist areas i.e. Marbella, Puerto Banus, Ronda, Granada etc. then we would recommend hiring a car.
Is there anything extra to pay?
We allocate a free electricity allowance of 300kw per week and any excess kws are charged at £0.20p/kw. The electricity allowance of 300kw per week (pro-rata for periods less/more than 7 nights) covers normal electricity usage inside the villa.
Please note for the special winter tariff electricity is not included in the rental price.
Why do you allocate an electricity allowance?
We introduced the electricity allowance to ensure guests were energy conscious during their stay i.e. not leaving lights & a/c units on in all the rooms when not in use.
We have an electric meter so guests can see how much electricity is used per day during their stay. Obviously the higher number of people occupying the villa dictates as to how much electricity is used.
How much does it cost to heat the pool in during low season & winter?
The pool is heated by an efficient heat exchanger system which is dependent on the ambient outdoor temperature.
During March-May and September to October, the day/night temperatures are favourable (and also because the pool is south facing) the sun helps to heat the pool so the cost is minimal.
However, during the winter months the day/night temperatures are lower than the mid/high season temperatures, so an estimated cost to heat the pool during winter (on top of normal electricity usage) would be approx £35/week. In the rare event should the temperature fall below 8C degrees, a safety feature of the heat exchanger will automatically shut down the system to prevent damage. In this case it will be impossible to heat the pool during the shut-down period. The heater will only re-start the heating system once the temperature rises to above 8C degrees, so the heat pump will obviously work longer to achieve 28C thus using more electricity.
How do I pay for the rental and which currencies do you accept?
Payment can either be made by UK cheque, cash or bank transfer in Sterling to our account in the UK (details of which are provided with the booking form).
Should you wish to pay in any other currency then please contact us.
Do you accept Credit & Debit Cards?
Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards.

Yes it is. However, please note that the villa has an open-plan staircase and marble floors throughout. We have had many families with small children stay at the villa.
Is the villa suitable for disabled guests?
Unfortunately the villa is not equipped to cater for disabled guests.
Is there a Weekly maid service?
If you are staying for up to 10 nights the maid service will be on your day of arrival and day of departure only. The villa is equipped with a washing machine or, should you wish additional cleaning & laundry this can be arranged at an additional charge.
During peak season (July & August) a linen change is provided free of charge after the first 7 nights (only for 14 night bookings).
Do you supply a 'Welcome Pack', if so what is in it?
We no longer supply food in the complimentary 'Welcome Pack' as we found that most guests were doing a supermarket shop before arriving at the villa and not using the items supplied. We still supply a basic welcome pack which consists of mineral water, milk & soft drinks (orange juice and lemonade). In addition we supply tea, coffee & sugar.
Do I need to bring a Hair Dryer, Iron etc?
The villa is ‘home-from-home’ and is fully equipped. Please see the ‘Quick View’ page on our website.
Is there a telephone & internet connection?
Yes. The villa has a landline telephone and free Wi-Fi internet. All local calls and calls to any landline number in SPAIN are free. However, calls to international numbers, mobiles and premium rate numbers are blocked. If you wish to call these numbers then you will need to use your own mobile phone.
N.B. North American visitors will require a tri-band mobile phone.

Does the villa have air conditioning?
The villa is fully equipped with air conditioning units in all the bedrooms and the living area.
Does the villa have heating for winter bookings?
The villa has air-conditioning units in every room which also give heat in the winter. There is also a log-fire in the lounge which can be used during winter. Logs are not provided and can be purchased locally at any garage. Should you wish to be provided with logs on arrival this is chargeable at an extra cost.
Does the villa have Sky TV and what channels can I receive?
The villa has Satellite TV and a ‘digi-box’ to receive a selection of free-view channels (UK channels only). As in the UK, if there is cloud coverage or bad weather this may affect the satellite reception.
Is there a discount for longer lets?
Discounts can be agreed for stays 3 weeks or longer during low season only.
Will I have a local contact?
Yes. We live locally so can be contacted on our mobile number in case of any emergencies.
Can you organise flights?
No. This has to be organised by you. We do however have a page on our website with details of low cost airlines that fly from the UK to Malaga.
Can you organise airport transfers?
We highly recommend Transfers Del Sol, a family run airport transfer company based in Fuengirola. They are a Spanish registered company with English speaking drivers and know the exact location of the villa. Please liaise directly with them for a quote via their own website www.transfersdelsol.co.uk
